The Importance of Photo Selection

Your blanket will only be as good as the photo you choose. A clear, well-lit, high-resolution image ensures we can capture every detail and expression beautifully in knitted form. Blurry, dark, or low-quality photos may result in less definition and detail, which can affect the final look of your blanket.

For best results:

  • Choose a high resolution image (at least 1MB or more).
  • Well-lit photos with natural light work best.
  • Avoid heavy filters or extreme shadows.
  • Make sure the main subject is centred and clearly visible.

If you’re unsure about your image, our team can check it before we start production to make sure it will knit beautifully. By choosing the right photo, you’ll ensure your blanket is as stunning and meaningful as the memory it holds.

Choosing Your Colour Style

When designing your photo blanket, you’ll have three style options: Greyscale, Colour Highlight or Let Us Decide. (See below examples of the different styles)

Greyscale means your image will be knitted entirely in shades of grey — from the darkest charcoal through to soft silver. This creates a timeless, classic look and works beautifully with almost any photo.

Colour Highlight adds a splash of personality by incorporating one colour from our current yarn collection. Our design software analyses your photo and automatically assigns:

  • darkest tone as your main dark colour.
  • lightest tone as your main light colour.
  • mid-tone as your chosen highlight colour.

Your highlight colour options will appear in the editor when you upload your photo, so you can choose the one that best suits your image and style.
